"Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys" is a Japanese anime film from 2004, directed by Kunihiko Yuyama. It serves as the seventh installment in the Pokémon series and is the second film released under the title "Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation" in Japan. The movie features the voice talents of Rica Matsumoto, Ikue Otani, Yuji Ueda, Kaori, Fushigi Yamada, Noriko Hidaka, Koichi Yamadera, Susumu Chiba, Kenji Nojima, and Becky. The story of the film unfolds within the context of the seventh season of the Pokémon animated series, known as Pokémon: Advanced Challenge.

"Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys" was originally released in Japan on July 17, 2004. The English adaptation of the film was produced by 4Kids Entertainment and distributed by Miramax Films. It made its debut on Kids' WB on January 22, 2005.

A mysterious meteorite hurtles towards Earth, endangering Rayquaza, a guardian residing in the ozone layer. The meteorite crashes into a polar zone, giving rise to two egg-shaped objects. One egg transforms into Deoxys, a purple alien Pokémon, and retrieves the green egg. Rayquaza descends from the ozone layer, mistakenly perceiving Deoxys as an adversary. A fierce battle erupts, causing destruction and instilling fear in a young boy named Tory. The clash concludes when Rayquaza surprises Deoxys with a point-blank Hyper Beam, obliterating its body and leaving behind a purple crystal that falls into the sea. Meanwhile, researchers recover a similar green crystal found with Deoxys and bring it to Hoenn. Underwater, the injured Deoxys regenerates and patiently awaits.

Four years later, Ash, May, Brock, and Max journey to LaRousse City, where robotic guards patrol the area. They encounter Tory, who has become fearful of Pokémon and withdrawn from others. Deoxys, having fully recovered, departs to retrieve the green crystal that Tory's parents are studying in a laboratory.

During their visit to the Battle Tower, Ash mistakes Tory for a Pokémon Trainer, leading them to engage in a battle against Rafe and Sid. Tory employs Ash's Torkoal but lacks the necessary skills to control it, resulting in their defeat. Tory flees but stops to rescue a trapped Minun from a garbage can.

As Deoxys starts abducting the city's residents to locate the green crystal using copies of itself, Ash, Pikachu, and Tory must assist in the search. The situation grows more complex with Rayquaza's reappearance and the malfunctioning of security robots, prompting Deoxys to create a force field that disrupts the city's power supply. Eventually, Rayquaza breaches the force field, leading to a chaotic battle between Deoxys and Rayquaza, causing widespread destruction. The green crystal regenerates when Pikachu, Minun, and Plusle charge the lab's power generator. Just as Deoxys is about to deliver a final blow to Rayquaza, the green Deoxys arrives, fully healed and transformed into its Defense Forme, rescuing Rayquaza. The city becomes overwhelmed by hostile robotic blocks, but the twin Deoxys shields Rayquaza from harm. Witnessing the Pokémon's determination to protect it, Rayquaza retaliates by unleashing Hyper Beams that destroy the mass of robots.

Ash and Tory collaborate to deactivate the malfunctioning robots by disabling the chief robot. They successfully free the twin Deoxys and Rayquaza. In a daring rescue, Tory falls from the tower of robots but is saved by the green Deoxys. Rayquaza, realizing that the Deoxys are not enemies, departs peacefully, while the green and purple Deoxys create auroras in the sky as a farewell gesture to their friends before embarking on an unknown journey. Ash remarks that no matter where they are going, they will always have each other. Tory, having overcome his fear of Pokémon, agrees and bids farewell to Ash and the others at the train station, accompanied by his newfound friends Plusle and Minun. Ash and his companions continue their adventures in the Hoenn region.
